LOT 12
LAR 22-403
LAR 22-403 Logix Pedigree Report
Lot 12. LAR22-403. What a privilege it was to have bred a bull like Lot 12’s sire, LAR19-373 and how grateful we are as breeders to acknowledge the impact he has had on our herd. We are truly humbled by LAR19-373’s achievement at the 2024 Champion of the World competition. Awarded Gold Medal in the Asia/Africa category and achieving the top 8 in the World Supreme All Breeds Champion of the World Competition. A remarkable achievement for Bonsmara SA and Up George Bonsmaras on this Global Stage. We are proud to offer limited genetics of this spectacular herd sire LAR19-373 with 11 sons on offer. 6 of these sons have been used in the herd including Lot 12 LAR22-403. Lot 12 is a very striking masculine bull with exceptional length and width. He has a remarkable compact masculine head like his sire, broad over the shoulders, strong back, loin and a deep well muscled hind quarter and free of myostatin red genes. A clean underline, tight sheath and well formed big testes of 42cm. LAR19-373 has the ability to breed broad well muscled fleshy cattle that do not carry the myostatin red genes. It is important to keep the balance of muscling and easy fleshing, as in Lot 12, contributing efficiently to the desired conformation and performance traits required in the massive weaner production industry for feedlots. Lot 12’s dam, LAR14-035 (101/9 calves, 377 ICP) is a very special cow carrying her sire, LAR07-055’s true characteristics of width and fleshing ability to the optimum level. With this quality of width and capacity being so evident in the genetics of both sire and dam lines of Lot 12, it lends itself to sustainable genetic predictability. Lot 12’s sister LAR17-050, same dam LAR14-035, has one of the broadest 8+ score bulls on sale, (also a LAR19-373 son) who is Lot 29, LAR23-233. Lot 12’s paternal grandmother LAR08-245, 107/13 calves (dam of LAR19-373) is a remarkable 18 year old cow, still in the herd with her 14th calf. She has 2 sons on sale, Lot 4 and Lot 6 (both used in the herd) and not forgetting that she is the dam of LAR19-373. Lot 12 has an average of 33kg for his progeny on birth mass as well as his sire LAR19-373 who has an average of 33kgs for 60 of his progeny. We are quietly optimistic that Lot 12 will continue his sire’s legacy in the competitive beef industry of SA. We retain a semen share and one semen share user has been taken.

LOT 14
LAR 22-432
LAR 22-432 Logix Pedigree Report
Lot 14. LAR22-432. This bull makes an impressive statement with his width, muscling and masculinity. He is a ton of beef and clean of the myostatin DM genes. He needs to be seen to be appreciated! A very correct bull with his incredible balance of capacity and muscling, tight underline with no waste, big well formed testes and a tight sheath. Not only does Lot 14 look the part but he has an incredible proven genetic lineage to back him. He is a son of the world renown record price bull, LAR19-373 (see Lot 12) and his dam LAR13-068 (107/7 calves, still in the herd) is truly an exceptional Elite Silver, 4 star cow. She is a daughter of BP10-017 (and sire of LAR13-049, Lot 8’s dam) We have used 3 of LAR13-068’s sons in the herd and her 2nd son LAR18-154 is the sire of Lot 6, LAR21-535. The common denominator in all these 3 sons is exceptional width, which stems from this extraordinary dam LAR13-068. Lot 14, was light on birth mass at 31 kg (his progeny average 33kg) A consideration with a bull of this magnitude in weight, is weaner production. Approximately 1.5 to 1.8 weaners go through SA feedlots per anum which is 80 % of the country’s beef production. Weaner quality and conformation is of significant importance for rapid turnaround time, making economic sense with heavier, healthier and well adapted calves. We have used this bull in the herd. One semen share has been taken and we retain a semen share.

LOT 16
LAR 23-076
LAR 23-076
Logix Pedigree Report
Lot 16. LAR23-076. One of the top 4 star LAR21-072 sons on sale. We used this herd sire LAR21- 072 as from a year old as he was an exceptional bull finishing the D phase test with a high conformation score as well as one of the top performers. We will see a lot more of this exceptional bull in top pedigrees going forward. Lot 16 was used in the herd and we have great expectations for this bull. An attractive bull with an exceptional head and muzzle, and the perfect type of conformation. Easy fleshing with a quality coat. His sire LAR21-072 (Lot 1 in 2024, Gert Cronje) has bred exceptionally well and consistently well in the herd. This herd sire is a son of the special bull LAR18-016 (the perfect combination of LAR02-180 x LAR14-173) who unfortunately suffered an injury limiting his progeny. Lot 16 is a classy bull with a black type pedigree. Lot 16’s dam, LAR20-356, a 8 score daughter of LAR17-003, who unfortunately died early is out of a very beautiful 8.5 score cow LAR13-341, 107/2, Elite Silver, 4 star (embryo cow with Bella Allianza) We retain a semen share in this bull. Two semen shares have been taken. Straws tapped and frozen.

LOT 18
LAR 23-194
LAR 23-194 Logix Pedigree Report
Lot 18. LAR23-194. Another top class very broad 4.5 star son of LAR19-373. These sons of LAR19-373 have an incredible ability to pack on the weight all in the right places, as well as growth in width. They get wider and wider as opposed to taller! Lot 18 is a perfect example of this economical trait. He is exceptionally broad in the hindquarter as well as over the shoulder. This shoulder width being a primary indicator of reproductive efficiency and testosterone levels. Lot 18 is one of 6, LAR19-373 sons used in the herd this season.. A positive indicator on how well this herd sire LAR19-373 has performed. Lot 18’s dam LAR13-039, 5 star cow, (112/8 calves, 368 ICP) an incredibly high performing daughter of BP10-017 (see Lot 8) 7/8 of her calves being approved. Two of her sons used in the herd, Lot 18 in 2026 and Lot 5, LAR18-250 in 2024, sold to Leeuwbult Bonsmaras. A very well connected dam line. Lot 18’s dam LAR13-039 is a grand daughter of the stalwart cow LAR05-151 (102/15 calves. Now 22 years old)) who has had a very influential effect on Up George genetics with 6 daughters in the herd and 3 of her sons used in the herd. Lot 18 was used on stud cows in the herd & we are optimistic that this son of LAR19-373 with his impressive correct conformation, will make a significant impact in any herd. Lot 18, an exceptional weaner calf weighing 325kg with an incredible weaner calf value of 130, indicating heavy weaners & he will most definitely breed excellent replacement heifers. An outstanding all rounder with exceptional Breeding Values to back him, and an outstanding pedigree. We retain a semen share in this quality bull.
